Michel Simon was born in 1895 in Geneva. In 1915 he decided to become an actor after a catastrophic schooling and an undisciplined start in the army. Noticed by Louis Jouvet, he knows his first successes on the stage and will play in more than 150 plays. Jean Renoir will allow him to be consecrated on the big screen with several films and in particular The Bitch. Michel Simon will found with the director a film production company that will allow him to embody his most unforgettable character in Boudu Saved from Drowning. From silent cinema to talking pictures, he will distinguish himself in all genres and all registers with more than one hundred films to his credit and collaborations with the greatest French directors of the 20th century. He died in 1975 and only four people will be present at his funeral including Michel Galabru, Jean-Pierre Mocky and Michel Serrault.
