After a first novel about psychoanalysis, Anne Cathrine Bomann returns with a clever medical thriller about mourning, science and love.

Shadi and Anna are very different. One tries to control her anxiety on a day-to-day basis, while the other throws parties and conquests in the hope of forgetting the death of her mother. However, these two psychology students must write a thesis together asking the question: can we treat grief as an illness? Their research will lead them to confront Danish Pharma. This pharmaceutical company manipulates statistical data in order to accelerate the marketing of Callocaine. Announced as revolutionary, this drug would reduce the sadness specifically felt during a mourning, but it could also have serious side effects on the empathy mechanisms. Faced with the complicit blindness of the university community, Shadi, Anna and their professor are going to break the rules and play outside the range. A game that will prove to be very risky.
