Poetic and photographic portrait of the punk youth of the 2000s.

In the late 1990s, Stéfanie Tremblay took thousands of photographs of the punk-rock scene in Jonquière, a small industrial town. Twenty-five years later, now a visual artist and author, she offers with Music a poetic look back at her years of youth and rage, far from the big centers, long before Facebook. It’s a feminine look at a North American teenage story: the machismo of rock, the violence of drugs and the sadness of the suburbs, but also immense love, infinite tenderness and becoming an artist.

Sailing between the worlds of Nan Goldin and Didier Wampas, Stéfanie Tremblay’s poetry is incisive, funny, sexual and deeply moving.

The author

Stéfanie Tremblay is a visual artist and author. Since 2005, she has made her life a long documented performance.
She nurtures an intimate and offbeat visual universe, favoring a minimal aesthetic, obsessed with punk, body fluids, death and hygiene.
