Josephine Baker, Frida Kahlo, Oum Kalthoum, George Sand, Dora Maar... So many women who have marked the history of art.
Painters, sculptors, photographers, writers, singers, filmmakers... discover twenty-three portraits of inspiring women artists who have triumphed over difficulties, codes or prohibitions to exist fully.
Isadora Duncan, freed from the shackles of classical dance, Simone de Beauvoir, an author with a powerful feminist commitment, Niki de Saint Phalle, a multi-faceted artist in search of beauty and color... Their stories give us an example of great creativity, of an unrestricted and independent affirmation.

the authors

After having written many stories for the youngest at Fleurus, Anne Lanoë signs her first novel for teenagers, Le ciel est la limite, with a writing of great finesse. Her poetic literary style had already been noticed during the Printemps des Poètes: with her group Lili Brik, she was a finalist in the 2013 edition of this great event.

Alice Dussutour, French illustrator, graphic designer and author, shares her sensitivity in joyful and colorful creations. After a degree in art direction, she developed her passion for illustration. She draws her inspiration from the little things of everyday life, her emotions, but also feminist issues. She loves the ocean and flowers, laughing a little too hard, robins and dogs wearing rain coats.
She published her first book as an author and illustrator in 2022, with Ricochet Editions.
