Julien Perrault lost everything by hitting two of his rivals on the Le Mans circuit. He who had been the prodigy of the Motorcycle Grand Prix became the pariah, the “assassin”. But a sulfurous sponsor offered the young man to come back to the forefront of the scene. To race again. Only, his return to the circuits, Julien no longer envisages it alone. At his side, in the team that will prepare him for the race, he will count on the psychiatrist who has been following him since his accident, his father who built his first motorcycles and this slightly crazy painter who has become his friend. Three most atypical supporters at the heart of the great circus that is getting ready.

In this new novel full of fury, Antonin Varenne paints the portrait of a man ready to pay any price to go to the end of his passion, to be faithful to himself, selfishly and without limits.

The author

Born in Paris in 1973, Antonin Varenne spent his childhood in the four corners of France, then on a sailboat. After graduating from university, he became a construction mountaineer, lived in Toulouse, worked in Iceland and Mexico and, in 2005, he anchored himself at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains where he decided to write his first story on paper. Returning to France accompanied by an American woman, a bilingual child and a Mexican dog, he settled in Creuse and now devotes himself to writing.

Strong points

The new novel by Antonin Varenne, after the success of La toile du monde (10,000 copies sold in large format).

An addictive novel about a man’s quest and the sacrifices one makes in the name of passion.

An author well identified by the press and followed by readers.
