A first novel with a powerful language. One of the main strengths of Capitale Songe of Lucien Raphmaj is the beauty of his writing. You can enter the text anywhere, the language is catchy, powerful.

Imagine a world in which sleep has disappeared, in which dreams have become a resource to be exploited. On the island of Capital D., while the investigation into this disappearance of sleep is leading us into the shallows of a dystopian world, insomnia has reached a new stage, revolt is brewing, and a new drug threatens to make all living things disappear.

With Capitale Songe, Lucien Raphmaj offers us a very ambitious first novel mixing powerful action scenes with a rich and sharp philosophical reflection on our relationship to sleep and work. Served by a sumptuous and hallucinatory pen, his powerful and creative universe immediately places him in the wake of Antoine Volodine and Alain Damasio.
