A breathtaking film adaptation of Julia Thévenot’s best-selling novel!

Inès is the type to beat up anyone who picks a fight with her brother, Tristan, who has autism. Tristan, on the other hand, is the type to look both ways before crossing the street. But on this particular day, he can’t stop his sister, who, while running after her dog… tumbles into a parallel universe. Bordeterre. That’s the name of this town, perched on a fault line between two planes of reality. There, you come across kids singing to turn a mill, lords fishing for pebbles… and strange creatures.
Inès, naturally, is thrilled. She explores, taking in every corner of Bordeterre with supreme joy, just like the dog she followed. Tristan is more worried: there’s something rotten in this town…

the authors

At the age of six, Julia Thévenot vowed she would become a writer. Not wanting to go back on that magical promise—because you never know what might happen—she decided to devote herself to children’s and fantasy literature. That is how she became an editor (Sarbacane, 2016–2025) and then an author (since 2020). She lives with her husband and two children in Finistère, devoting herself full-time to literature in all its forms.
